Moles are very persistant. The only way to really get rid of the mole is to get rid of your grubs. If you have moles then you have grubs and as long as you have grubs you will have moles. You can treat your ground for grubs in the being of June. This is when the grub surfaces to the top and the only time to really get rid of them. Once your grubs are gone then your persistant little mole will travel to the next yard to find his meals.

In order to keep just rabbits out you should have a fence no lower than three feet tall. It wouldn't hurt to put a border around the base of it also. A treated 2 x 6 would work.

Spring Lawn Care

What are some things I can do in early Spring to help my lawn year round?
Submitted by: Casey
We suggest a few steps to help keep your lawn looking great all year:
- Raking, I know this probably isn't your favorite but raking will help remove thatch. Heavy thatch can prevent new grass from growing!
- Aeration, If you lawn is subjected to heavy traffic it may be showing signs of decline! In this case you lawn is suffering from compaction and lawn aeration is the remedy.
- Liming, grass likes a neutral soil pH and if moss is prevelent in your turf then lime may be the key.
- Overseeding, this can help reduce those unsightly bare patches and "dog spots".
- Fertilizing, but take it easy. We recommend a light fertilizing in the spring.
