It was a long trip, but we made it back today. It is about a 40 hour round trip drive between here and Homestead, Florida where we go every year to hand pick our tropical plants for the garden center. For those of you who don’t know where Homestead is, it is about as far South in Florida, and the entire country for that matter, that you can go – South of Miami! We have found that this nursery has the largest and best selection of quality tropical plants. This time we brought back over 650 tropical plants for the garden center and to incorporate into landscaping designs. We brought back 10′ palm trees, rabbit’s foot hanging baskets, enormous boston ferns, gorgeous hibiscus bushes & trees, and countless other exotic tropicals. We hand picked the very best that their nursery had available to be sure we brought back top quality tropicals. These plants are fresh – they were growing in Florida 24 hours ago! If you check out our calendar you’ll see that we’ve got a Tropical Day, including a seminar on utilizing tropicals, next Saturday, April 24th. However, you probably shouldn’t wait until then to come check them out because this Saturday is our Spring Open House and these plants look so great that I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t make it until Tropical Day!
