This past weekend we packed up some of our products from our new Sparkles ‘n Spurs Unique Boutique gift area and took it on the road to the Piatt County Trail Blazers rodeo in Monticello. We had such a great time and met a lot of great people. We were there Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, which got pretty interesting at times because of the inclimate weather, but no damage was done. We had a great spot for setting up our tent – we were close enough to the arena that we could watch most of the rodeo and we were right next to the mechanical bull, which always had a long line of people waiting to prove that they were a true cowboy/cowgirl. The worst part about where we were located was that we were right next to the funnel cake booth. Some of us may have had one too many funnel cakes over the weekend! Our favortie rodeo event was the “Button Busters.” For those of you who haven’t seen this before, this is when they put little kids on the backs of sheep and see who can hang on the longest. Don’t worry, no sheep or kids were hurt in this event. You wouldn’t believe how long some of these kids hung on! These were true cowboys/cowgirls in the making.
We had a lot of people stop by our tent to buy shirts, hats, jeans, a few decorative signs, and even some boots. Most people had never heard of our new Sparkles ‘n Spurs gift area within Cedar Lake Gardens & Gifts, but a lot of them had heard about Cedar Lake or had been there before. To learn more about this great new gift area of ours go to our Sparkles ‘n Spurs page HERE. Also, don’t forget to participate in the drawing for a FREE pair of our women’s Ferrini boots – learn more HERE.
We are already looking forward to our next rodeo – mostly because we’ll be able to say “this aint our first rodeo!”
